Maxine Groves Higbee, 82, of Victorville, Ca., formerly of Milton, died at 9:10 AM Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Arrowhead Home, San Bernardino, Ca. She was born Aug. 7, 1920, at Milton to Willis "Tink" and Ruth Mills Groves. She married John J. "Jack" Higbee in 11936. He died in 1981.
She graduated from Milton High School and lived most of her adult life in California where she was a manager of an accounting office for many years. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mary Higbee, of Whittier, Ca. and several nieces and nephews including Susan Morales of Victorville, Ca. who had been her caregiver and Nancy Groves.
Maxine was a loving and devoted aunt. She was prceeded in death by her husband, a son, Steve Higbee and two brothers, Dwayne and Dwight Groves. Arrangements for a graveside service in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Memorials to the family may be brought to the service, left at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua or mailed to the family at 15415 Lone Eagle St, Victorville, Ca. 92392
