Pearl McCarty

Pearl McCarty, 91, of Douds died at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield. She was born August 10, 1909 at Franklin, KY to Dock and Isabel Carter. She married Nelson McCarty in 1928. They were the parents of two children, Louise and Robert.

Mr. McCarty died in 1935 and she married his brother, Eldridge in 1939. He died in 1988. She lived in LaHarpe, IL and with her husband, Eldridge, farmed near Mt. Sterling and Selma. They retired to Douds in 1978. She has been active in the Douds United Methodist Women, Douds Senior Meals, and the former Douds Temple No. 104, Rythian Sisters.

Surviving are a son, Robert and his wife, Marcene of Fairfield, six grandchildren, a step granddaughter and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a daughter, Louise Orndoff and her husband, Richard, a granddaughter, a step grandson and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 16, 2001 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, Rev. Jerry Caughron officiated. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds. Memorials to the Douds Senior Meals may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 2150 236th Blvd, Fairfield 52556.
