Mrs. Sarah Eleanor Woods, daughter of James and Louisa Mathias, was born near Willett, Iowa, January 17, 1867 and was reared to womanhood on the farm.

She united with the Congregational church at Athens, Mo., in her girlhood under the ministrations of Rev. Wiggen, pastor at that time.

She was married to Mr. William O. Woods, October 5th, 1890, to them was born one son and one daughter, Mr. John Woods of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Mrs. Rosie Dupree of New Sharon, Iowa, and four step children whom she reared, Mrs. Mattie Druikshank of Bloomfield, Iowa, Mr. Harvey Woods of Amarilla, Texas, Mr. M. L. Woods of Verndale, Minn., and Mrs. Flora Hyatt of Verndale, Minn. Mrs. Woods home was at Oskaloosa, Iowa, but about eight weeks ago she came to visit her father's family here. For the past four years she has been afflicted with internal disease progressive in its nature. And in the hope of a cure she has been under treatment at the Mayo Institution.
