12 October 1964-- Lyle Downing, 16, son of Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Downing of Milton was fatally injured Monday at about 5:45 pm. when the notorcycle he was riding apparently went out of control near the railroad crossing 2 1/2 miles east of Milton on Highway No. 2. The motorcycle careened into a guard post after leaving the road.
Downing was taken by ambulance to the Davis County Hospital at Bloomfield where he died a few hours later.
Besides his father and mother, Lyle leaves to mourn his loss, a brother, Dwight, and a sister, Lois.
