FAIRFIELD (IA.) LEDGER, 31 December 1926
"Harmon Perry STIDGER, a former resident of this place, passed away at his home, 526 City Park Avenue, Columbus, OH December 15,1926. He was born at Middleport, OH April 2, 1855, having reached the age of 71 yrs. 8 mos. 13 days. He was married May 21, 1876 to Kate Harper who survives him. Seven children were born to this union, three who preceded the father in eternity.
In September 1876 they came to Fairfield where they resided for 16 yrs.The last 20 yrs., they have made their home at Columbus, OH. He was a plasterer by trade and well known throughout the country, for many years he was in partnership with V. W. White of this city. He continued his trade until about a year ago when he was compelled to give up on account of his health. The past 7 mos. he had been confined in his bed and practically helpless. With the best of care and all that medical aid could do he passed away at 6:15 PM with his family at his bedside.
He leaves beside his widow, one son, John H. at Connersville, Indiana, 3 daughters, Kathryn Hoepfner and Emma E. Graff of Columbus, OH, one grandson, Harold Fuller and one great grandchild, Harold Fuller, Jr., one brother, one sister and many friends. To mourn his loss was shown by the many beautiful floral offerings and friends who came to pay their respects to the deceased.
Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 3 PM conducted by Rev. George Schultz of Trinity Lutheran Church. Members of the Plasterers Union were pallbearers."
(NOTE: Harmon P. Stidger and his family moved from Fairfield, IA to Bonaparte, Van Buren Co. IA. They were on the 1900 VanBuren Co. census, taken 9 June 1900. They then moved to Columbus, OH).
