Obituary of Robert Wirt Finn

Robert Wirt Finn, son of James and Sarah Finn, was born near Bonaparte, Iowa on May 13, 1868 and passed away Sunday evening, March 12, at the Brown Nursing home in Des Moines at the age of 81 years and 10 months.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Matilda Jarnagen May 26, 1889. To this union were born one son and two daughters.

He is survived by one son, Howard of Newton and one daughter, Edith McCann, Des Moines; one sister, Mrs. Alwilda Eller and three brothers, Lawrence, Charlie and Ed; three grandsons and one granddaughter; eight great-grand childern.

His wife, and one daughter, Blanche, proceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Dennis Funeral Home in Des Moines Wednesday morning and burial was at Monroe.

Robert Finn was my great uncle. He died in 1950 and is buried in Silent City Cemetery, Monroe, Jasper, Iowa. His daughter, Blanche was married to Morris Yoakum.

This obituary was found at the Monroe Public Library, Monroe, Iowa, however there was no source attached to it. No obituary was found in the Des Moines Register, it probably was in either the Newton Dailey News or the local Monroe newspaper.
