Roy Watkins Found Dead Wednesday

Ray Watkins, 66, of near Keosauqua, was found dead in his home Wednesday morning June 26 by Leonard Sheets, his cousin.

He was a member of Van Buren County Selective Service Board for many years, a past employee of the State Agricultural Department and prominent in Repuublican politics in the county.

His wife, Dorothy Watkins, passed away in January.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert Vanderwater (Jeannette) of El Sereno, Calif., Mrs. John Maasson (Maxine) of Avoca, Ia, and a son, Jesse Watkins of Ames.

The body is at Catcott Funeral Home, pending arrangements.
