BERTHA BEATY

Bertha Beaty daughter of Robert and Mary Landess Burns was born November 27, 1876 passed away Thursday moming, April 11, 1968, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital at the age of 91 years.

On March 10, 1895, by the Rev. Hiram Gilbert, she was united in marriage to William Henry Beaty who preceded her in death on October 10, 1951. She had spent her entire life in Van Buren County and had been a resident for 52 years.

She was a member of the Cantril Methodist Church, the Woman's Society of Christian Service and the Past Matron's Club of the Order of Eastern Star.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers, an infant daughter Edna who passed away July 21, 1933.

She is survived by a daughter Eva Cretcher of Cantril with whom she had made her home the past two years, two granddaughters, Mrs. Robert Dunn (Louise) of St. Louis, Mo. and Mrs. Ward Ruske (Roberta) of Chicago, Ill., two great grand children Renee and Eric Huske, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13th at the Cantril Methodist Church, with the Rev. Herbert Phillips officiating. Interment was in Cantril.
