Noel C. McNamar

KEOSAUQUA - Noel C. McNamar, 47, rural mail carier of Keosauqua since November 1941, died about 1:35 a.m today at Memorial Hospital. He had suffered a heart attack about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The son of Wesley L. and Grace Thompson McNamar was born Feb. 23, 1921, at Bonaparte. His marriage to Arlene Standley of Stockport, took place Oct. 30, 1943, Altus, Okla.

He was a veteran of World War II and had served 3 1/2 years in the Air Force.

At the time of his death he was a member of the Air Force Reserve at Burlington with a rank of lieutenant colonel; was a member of the Methodist Church, was active on a number of church committees, was a member of Chancel Choir. He was a past master at Keosauqua Lodge 10, A.F.& A.M., was a member of Beer Barker Post 113, American Legion; was president of the Fox Valley Little League, was a member of the Keosauqua Country Club and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Brian, 11; his mother and two brothers, Max of North Bend, Ore., and William, Hartford.

The body is Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.
