NELSON HOSKIN
Nelson Hoskin was born April 2, 1852, near Keosauqua. He was the only child of Harrison and Sarah Hoskin and spent most of his life on his farm near the old home.
He departed this life Nov. 19, 1927, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. C. Vinsonhaler of Orland, Calif., where he went a short time ago to spend the winter.
Oct. 23, 1873, Mr. Hoskin was united in marriage to Sarah Hankey, who preceded him in death June 26, 1925. Three children were born to this union: Mrs. Vinsonhaler of Orland, Cal., Mrs. W. L. Roberts of Cantril and Alva Hoskin of Keosauqua, all off [sic] whom survive to mourn the loss of a father.
He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Nov. 25, at the M. E. church in Keosauqua by the pastor, M. D. Cox. Interment was made in the Hoskin cemetery.
