OBITUARY
F. L. McMILLAN

Francis Lee McMillan, son of John and Johannah McMillan, was born July 17, 1859, in Lee county, Iowa, and died at his home 5 miles southwest of Milton on March 13, 1936, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 26 days.

All of his adult life was lived on a farm in Davis county. On October 27, 1886, he was married to Mary Eliza Haney. Five children were born to them, Earl Joseph, at home, Guy Leslie, of southwest of Milton, and Lloyd Forrest, of Ft. Madison, Iowa, a twin son and daughter dying in infancy.

He is survived by his widow and children and two grandchldren [sic], Orville Stanley and Mary Louise; one sister, Mrs. Mary Williamson, of Bloomfield; four brothers, Albert, Henry and Edward, of Milton, and Charles, of Birmingham, Iowa. One brother, Theodare [sic], preceded him in death.

Mr. McMillan had always been engaged in farming, was an honest, hard working man, providing a comfortable home and surroundings for his family. He was a kind husband, father and neighbor and will be greatly missed in his community.

The funeral was held from the home on Sunday afternoon, March 15, conducted by Rev. J. C. Caughlan. Burial was at the South Prairie Chapel in charge of Burnett's. The bodybeareres were Marlon Harman, Joe Harman, Herbert Barrow, Fred Stanford, William Bishop, and Otis Lee. Rev. Caughlan and Mrs. Media Helsel sang.
