OBITUARY

Eli, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dooley, was born in Harrison county, Indiana, October 18th, 1852, and passed away at his home in Cantril, Iowa, July 7, 1932, age 79 years, 8 months and 19 days.

When he was a child six years of age, his parents came to Iowa in a covered wagon and settled on a farm near Mount Sterling, Iowa, where they lived for 15 years. They then moved to a farm in Missouri south of Cantril which was the family home for 50 years.

There were six children, David, Eli, Amanda, Sarah, James and Annie. A number of years ago the four surviving, two bothers [sic] and two sisters, removed to Cantril and the passing of Eli leaves but the one sister, Sarah.

Eli was an honest, upright man, well thought of by all who knew him. He never united with the church but was a believer and supported the church and tried to make the golden rule the guide of his life.

All join in sympathy for the sister in her bereavement and loneliness.

Funeral was from the Cantril M. E. church Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. H. F. Gilbert. Pallbearers were J. C. Hall, C. R. Poling, B. C. Casady, John Van Fleet, Harve Wollam and R. H. McCoy. Burial was in Mt. Olive cemetery.
