Jacob Smith, father of Mrs. J. L. Haynes, died at his home in Chicago on Feb. 14, and Mrs. Haynes went to that city to attend the funeral. She had been there on the preceeding days, and on her arrival home found a telegram which had just arrived announcing the death. The friends here extend sympathy.
