LOCAL BUSINESS MAN

All Business Houses Close During
Funeral Services Wednesday

Louis Weissgerber, son of the Rev. Frederick F. and Caroline Weissgerber was born at Powhatton Point, Ohio, February 22, 1859, and departed this life at Keosauqua, Iowa, April 14, 1929, being 70 years, one month and 22 days of age.

Mr. Weissgerber's father being a minister of the Lutheran church, the children had the advantages of a strictly religious home and because of this atmosphere Louis was early confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and united with the church. Although in later life he was not living where there was a church of his choice, he never changed his church membership from the faith of his ancestors, but he held a warm place in his heart for people of all other faiths.

On May 26, 1889, he was united in the bonds of Holy matrimony with Miss Katherine Peil at Golden, Ill., and to them were born three children, one son and two daughters, Fred, Elizabeth and Caroline.

Mr. and Mrs. Weissgerber lived for some time at Golden, Ill., and vicinity and in the autumn of 1907 they moved to Keosauqua, Iowa, where Mr. Weissgerber was engaged as a baker and when failing health caused him to give up the business he took over his present business and has since been there.

Those left to mourn his going is his faithful wife, Fred. F., of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Elizabeth Doze, of Humeston, Iowa, Mrs. Caroline Barnett? of *******; and four grandchildren. He also leaves four brothers and one sister, August and William, of Ava, Ill.; Fred of Quincy, Ill.; Earnest, of North Carolina and Mrs. Bertha Wagner, of Calif.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Wednesday afternoon, April 17, at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. M. D. Cox pastor of the M. E. church here. Interment in Purdom cemetery.
