Lorna McElroy Marriott, daughter of John and Phoebe Jane McElroy, was born Nov. 19,1869, near Farmington, Ia and on Wednesday evening, Nov. 26, the summons came from the Great Beyond and she passed away at her home near Bentonsport, Ia at the age of 50 years and 7 days. Her death came as a shock to her many relatives and friends. She was ill only a few days; a chill on Thurdsay morning, Nov. 2, followed by pleurisy, which developed into double pneumonia and in less than one week the end came. On March 24,1888, she was united in marrige to Edward Carter and to this union was born one son, Albert. Dec. 20,1893, she was united in marriage to Wm. L. Marriott, and to them were given four children; Joseph Stacy, who preceded her in death only 5 months and a few days, Pluma Jane, Lela May, and little Florence Elizabeth, who left two years ago last July to await them in the home above. Besides her husband, two daughters and one son, she leaves to mourn her death, her aged father, two sisters, two brothers, two little grandsons and a host of loving friends.
