Louise J. Pratt, 90, DeWitt, died Sunday morning, February 14, 2010, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Louise Jeanette Pratt was born October 8, 1919, in Bonaparte, Iowa, to William Vincent and Lucy Olena (Gillaspie) Huff. She married Robert Edgar Pratt, November 23, 1941.

Louise loved to draw, arrange flowers and bake beautiful birthday cakes for her grandchildren. During Louise and Bob’s retirement years, the two shared trips across the country and winters in Arizona. While there, Louise created many funny costumes for parties where she, Bob and other fun-loving “snow-birds” enjoyed happy times. Louise was a devoted wife and mother and nothing gave her more pleasure than to be with her family and friends.

Surviving are a son, Jerald Pratt, Long Beach, California; a daughter, Roberta Barber, Lincoln, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Jon and Maria Pratt and Mike and Nate Barber; as well as five great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband on December 12 of last year, her parents, three sisters, and five brothers.

Family and friends may visit at First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt, from 10 until 10:45 a.m. today. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today in the church with Pastor Jeff Wartgow officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Memorials are suggested to Westwing Place.
