Lex Ely Miller, 91, of Memphis, Mo and formerly of Keosauqua, died Nov. 21,1997, at Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis. He was born July 28,1906 at Keosauqua to Fossie B. and Floy Ely Miller. He married Iris Yeager, Nov. 14,1929. They farmed north of Keosauqua, retired to town and entered Scotland County Nursing Home, Sept. 30,1995. He attended Keosauqua schools, was one of the founders and long-time president of the Van Buren Co. Sheep Empire Association, and served on the Van Buren Co. Fair Board. Surviving are his wife of the care center, a son Edwin and his wife, Donna of Memphis; a granddaughter, Stephanie and three great grandchildren. he was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, Leo,an infant brother, and a grandson, Doug Miller. Funeral services were held Nov. 25.1997 at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, north of Keosauqua.
