Opal L. Stevenson, 94, of Keosauqua died August 3, 1999 at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua. She was born April 6, 1905 near Billings, Oklahoma to George and Valara Mankin Wolf. She married Willard Hervey Dec. 26, 1926. They were divorced in 1946. She married B.D. "Hi" Stevenson April 10, 1948 in Memphis, Mo. He died 1988. She was a homemaker and had worked at Fairfield Glove Co. and in the dietaary department at Van Buren County Hospital, was an avid reader and gardner and enjoyed playing the piano. She was a member of Fairfield Branch, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are a son, Byron Hervey and a daughter, Valara Ferris, both of Keosauqua, five grandchildren, twelve great-granchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and an uncle, Arthur Poling of Wapello. She was preceeded in death by three brothers, Leroy, Basil and Ray Wolf and two sisters, Virgil Hamberg and Helen Wolf, a granddaughter, Angela Jones, a great nephew, Will Jobe and a great niece, Betty Husky.
Services were August 6, 1999 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Interment in Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Iowa.
