Alden (Pete) Watts, 75 passed away Saturday night, October 1, 1960 at 11:45 in the Memorial hospital at Keosauqua.
The son of Richard and Sarah Weiher Watts he was born July 29, 1885 on the farm southwest of Bonaparte where he spent his entire life. On Nov.3, 1912 he was united in marriage with Kathryn Muntz. To this union were born four children, Alden Jr., killed on Okinawa June 15, 1945; Beatrice Jairl, Moline, Ill.; Faye Randolph and Freida Riney of Bonaparte.
There were six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his son, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Elmer and a sister Olive.He devoted his life to his home, his family, the church and his many, many friends.
He was a member of the Methodist church at Bonaparte.
His bright blue eyes and cheerful face are a pleasure to recall.
He had a loving word for each and died beloved by all.
