Roy Alvin Parker Sr., son of Lafeyette and Myra Jane Parker, was born at Seneca, Kansas on Nov. 24,1890 and died at his home near Bonaparte, March 13, at the age of 57 years. On April 6,1912, he was married to Bertha Edna Gibbs, of Bonaparte. To this union was born nine children, all of whom survive. They are four sons, Louie and Frank of Bonaparte, Roy of Washington D.C., Ralph of Chico, Ca, and five daughters, Gladys of Ft. Madison, Leda of Bonaparte, and Esther, Louise, and Edna at home.eight grandchildren; one brother, James of Davenport; three sisters, Lila Pezley of Montrose, Lillie Boyer and Edith Schlatter of Keokuk; and a large number of nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband and kind father. He was of a cheerful position with a smile and greeting for friends and will be sadly missed in the home and community. Services were held March 17, at the Bonaparte Baptist Church and burial in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
