Samuel Mead Stevenson, oldest son of Thomas and Sarah Stevenson, was born May 12,1847 in Adams Co. Il and passed away Feb. 8,1936, aged 88 years, 8 months and 26 days. On Oct. 3,1869 he married Mary Ann Sadler. To this union was born two children,Mrs. Louie Riseley, of Rockwell City, Ia and a child who died in infancy. The wife and mother died Feb. 14,1874. On Jan 12,1878, he was married to Louisa E. Van Guilder, who passed away March 1,1931. They were the parents of two children; Arthur of Granger, Mo and Mrs. Mabel Spurgeon, of Brearshear, Mo. He leaves to mourn his passing five brothers, one sister, eleven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Genesco, Il and interment was in the family lot near Morristown, Il.
