Bazil D. "Hi" Stevenson, son of Arthur and Martha Heise Stevenson, was born Aug. 5,1901 near Bonaparte and died March 9,1988 at the Van Buren Co. Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua, at the age of 86. He lived a number of years in Memphis,Mo where he was a farmer and a mechanic. He also had opoerated a service station in Keosauqua. He married Opal Wolf Hervey, April 10,1948 at Memphis. Surviving are his wife; a stepson, Byron Hervey, Keosauqua; two stepdaughters, Valara Ferris, Keokuk and Marie Hanson, LA Cygne,Ks; seven step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Paul of Arbela, Mo and four sisters, May Jones of Burlington, Florence Beggs and Gertrude Williams of Boulder City, Nv and Ruth Miller of Tishomingo,Ms. Funeral services were held March 10,1988 in Keosauqua. Interment was in the Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.
