Garrett Rites In Keosauqua
KEOSAUQUA -- Funeral services for James R. Garrett, school custodian for the past 30 years, will be held in the high school gymnasium Tuesday at 2 p.m.
All classes will be dismissed during the services to permit students and faculty, who held Mr. Garrett in high esteem, to attend.
Rev. J. C. Beverly of Burlington will officiate the burial in Purdom cemetery. The body is at the Catcot Funeral Home. A memorial is being established for Mr. Garrett.
Garrett, 71, passed away of a heart attack Saturday at 4 p.m. in his home. He was the son of James and Mary McQuietly Garrett born June 18, 1895 in Keosauqua. He was a life resident and never married. He made his home with his sister, Sarah, his soul survivor with the exception of a few cousins.
