(Newspaper unknown, from Clark County (Mo.) Historical Society Collection)WYACONDA, Mo. - Paul E. Hales, 80, of Wyaconda, died at 2 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20,1984, at his home.
Mr. Hales was born May 4, 1903, in Mount Sterling, Iowa, a son of Thomas Franklin and Allie May Miller Hales. He married Leona Trealoff Jan. 18, 1923, and she died in June 1940. He married Clara Louise Pruett March 20, 1943. She survives. He farmed at Mount Sterling until his retirement. He was a member of the Alexandria Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Larry Hales of Wyaconda, a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Pauline) Crandal of Wyaconda; two stepsons, Richard Pruett of Wyaconda and Ernest Pruett of Macomb, Ill.; two stepduaghters, Mrs. Floyd (Mary Alice) Smeltser and Mrs. John (Carolee) Davis, both of Alexandria; 25 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, nine brothers and sisters, three children, a stepdaughter, a granddaughter and two grandsons.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Wyaconda Baptist Church, the Rev. Kay Ames conducting. Burial will be in Wyaconda Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
