LOUIS BISHOP

OTTUMWA - Louis A. BISHOP,80, of Ottumwa died July 6, 2002, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born March 13, 1922, in Libertyville to Charley Lewis and Ella HAWBAKER BISHOP. He married Ethel FERREL July 11, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo.

He was employed by John Morrell & Co. and retired from Morrell's after 30 years of service. He served in the United States Army during World War II serving in Europe, the Philippines and Japan.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Louis A. BISHOP Jr. of Chariton and Mark S. BISHOP of Sioux City; a daughter, Peggy SIRD of Lantana, Fla.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, William BISHOP.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dorsy and Harold BISHOP; and a sister, Ann MCWILLIAMS.

Services will be at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday in Shrine of Memories Funeral Home with the Rev. Lon LEWIS officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Military rites will be held at the graveside by the Walter B. Schafer Post No. 775 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the O. B. Nelson Post No. 3 of the American Legion.

Visitation will begin after noon today in the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p. m.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
