Harry William Hill, son of Eli and Laura Belle Owings Hill, was born on a farm near Bentonsport, on March 17,1887 and passed away at his home in Bonaparte on April 30,1954, at the age of 67 years, one month and 13 days. On Dec. 24,1908, he was united in marriage to Lila Stevens. To this union were born eight children. Mr. and Mrs. Hill started their married life on a farm near Bentonsport and after a few years he became interested in railroading and moved to Bonaparte to be near his work, in November 1927.He leaves to mourn his passing; his faithful and loving wife; five daughters and one son; Mrs. Thelma Corns of Burlington,Mrs. Ada Pickard of Ft. Madison, Mrs. Grace Van Patten, Mrs. Ethel Thoman, and Mrs. Faye Neeley of Bonaparte and one son, Roy Hill of Farmington; also a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two sons, Leo Chester and Dale Eli, one grandddaughter and two grandsons. Funeral services were held at the Bonaparte Presbyterian church. Burial in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
