O.F.McElroy,75, of Cantril died at his home in the south part of town, early Thursday morning after a long period of failing health. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Roy Roberts of Bonaparte; three brothers, Jack of Centerville, Will of Pueblo, Ca and James of Searcy, Co. Orville Fredrick McElroy, son of Andrew and Sarah McElroy was born Nov. 12,1862, north of Mt. Sterling, Ia and died at his home in Cantril on August 10,1939, at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 3 days. He was united in marriage to Fidelia Holland, May 31,1887 and to this union was born two daughters, Mrs. Lottie June Roberts of Bonaparte and Stella Irene, who preceded him in death in 1910. He spent most of his life on a farm near Mt. Sterling before moving to Navina, Ok, for two years, then back to Cantril where the remainder of his life was spent. Mr. McElroy planned to attend the homecoming on next Sunday, August 20, but he passed to the greater homecoming. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Cantril Christian Church. Burial was in the Cantril Cemetery.
