J.P. Brooks, and old and respected citizen of Chequest township, died at his son George's residence in that township on yesturday morning. Only two or three months ago his wife died, while he, though aged, was supposed to live some time, but death is very mysterious and no one can rely on living until a certain time. Mr. Brooks was in his 84th year and was a native of Virginia. His funeral will be preached in Geo. Brooks' residence at 10 o'clock this morning by Rev. Hunt.
