CORNELIUS M. ROBERTS
Cornelius Maitland Roberts was born in Keosauqua, Iowa on Aug. 19, 1885 and passed away in
Pasadena, Calif. on Saturday, Aug. 17. [1963 is handwritten in]He was the son of Aaron Wilkin and Carolie Haven Roberts. Neil, as he was known to his family and
friends, attended the Keosauqua schools, graduating in 1905. After finishing his education at Highland Park college in Des Moines, he served as secretary of the Chief Engineer of the Santa Fe Railroad in Los Angeles until his retirement.On March 15, 1914, he was united in marriage to Edith Rosella Bowen of Los Angeles, who survives.
He is also survived by a sister, Phyllis Roberts Overman of Blair, Nebr.; two brothers, Frank Wilkin Roberts and Ralph S. Roberts of San Diego; a niece, Mrs. Ronald C. Hill of Omaha; a nephew, Dr. Frank Haven McClurg of Fairfield; many cousins and a host of friends.
Last rites and interment were held in Los Angeles on Tuesday, August 20.
