Martin Azem Neiswanger was born April 11, 1847 in Bonaparte, Iowa to Martin K. and Rebecca Manning Neiswanger.

His father died September 15, 1847 while on a business trip to Pennsylvania. His mother married Robert McCausland in 1850.

Martin A. worked in the Meek Woolen Mill as a lad and until his death. In 1881 he married Emma Corwin. To this union was born 2 children; Daisy Ruth and Martin Azem.
In 1884 he died from pneumonia.

He is buried in Bonaparte Cemetery.
