Miss Norma Swerer, nineteen months old daughter of Mrs. Ella Swerer of Bonaparte died at the hospital in Keokuk Sunday afternoon while there for the purpose of having an operation on an abscess in her throat. The surgeon was ready for the operation when the abscess broke, causing her death.

She was accompanied to Keokuk by her mother, Mrs. Ed Smith and Dr. Croy who returned with the body to the home here Monday morning.

Norma had been ill with what is commonly called grippe for more than a month during which time the abscess had been forming.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the home.
