C. G. (Gus) Hansen, a resident of Bonaparte, who had been visiting in Fairfield with his daughter for some time, died Monday, April 4, 1960 at 3:15 p.m., at the Jefferson County hospital, Fairfield. He had been in failing health for some time but death was due to an operation. He was 84 years old.

He was the son of Charles and Anna Hansen, born Feb. 14, 1876 in Sweden with his childhood days being spent in Des Moines, several years in Boone and Fairfield and 40 years at Bonaparte. He was manager of the Fairfield Glove Factory at Bonaparte from 1919 to 1945.

On Feb. 12, 1898, he was married to Alma Josephine Johnson at Boone, Ia.

He was a member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian church, Bonaparte Masonic Lodge No. 73 and the Royal Arch Masons.

His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 1953; also one brother. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Gardner, Des Moines, Mrs. Winnetka Watts, Fairfield, and Mrs. Elizabeth Ferren of Evanston, Ill.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, 1960 at 2 o'clock at the Bonaparte Presbyterian church with burial at the Bonaparte cemetery.
