Joseph Alva Moore, son of John S. and Willa Myers Moore, was born in Bonaparte, Iowa, Sept. 20, 1921 and passed away at his home May 15, 1949 at the age of 27 years, 7 months, 25 days.

At the age of 5 he was left fatherless and his grandfather, Alva Myers, became more than father to him. Joe was greatly saddened by his death May 5, 1948.

Always in delicate health he has received constant and devoted care from his mother, grandparents, auntie, sister and cousins.

His health never permitted him to attend school but he possessed an unusually keen and alert mind and he had a wonderful education.

His greatest pleasure was going to grandpa's farm where grandfather and grandmother administered to his every want until prevented from doing so by the infirmities of age.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Willa Moore Martin of Bonaparte; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Lunsford and her husband, James of Milton; his aunt, Mrs. Trilla Cass and two cousins, John and Alva Cass of Bonaparte.

Services were held at the Cass home at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, with the Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Burial in the Bonaparte cemetery.
