Roxa Rowena Hunter Keeler

Roxa Rowena Hunter Keeler, youngest daughter of George and Louisa Hunter, was born April 2, 1885 in Clarke County, Missouri. She grew to womanhood in the Asbury neighborhood. She departed from this life March 11, 1955 at Ottumwa, Iowa, at her home.

July 22, 1903 she was united in marriage to John Keeler, and they lived in and near Mt. Sterling, Iowa, where she became a member of the Mt. Sterling Christian church. Born to this union were Mrs. Thurman Cornell of Ft. Madison, Iowa; Mrs. Willard Steinmeyer of Bonaparte, Iowa; Wayne Keeler of Ft. Madison, Iowa and Vaughn Keeler of Ottumwa, Iowa. Her husband, her children, 12 grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all brothers and sisters and a granddaughter.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 on Monday afternoon, March 14, at the Baptist church of Bonaparte with Rev. Jerry Beltz officiating. Organ preludes by Mrs. Ella Burns.
