Eva McLintock, daughter of Franklin and Leonora McLintock, was born in Farmington on April 29, 1880. At an early age she united with the Christian Church. In 1896 she was graduated from the Farmington High School and became a teacher in the schools of Van Buren and Lee County. On September 15, 1901 she was united in marriage to Charles Cleave and to this union one daughter was born. For several years Mrs. Cleave helped in the Service Station in connection with her husband's business and made many friends in the community. About six months ago her health failed and on Memorial Day she underwent an operation in the Sacred Heart hospital at Fort Madison. Upon her return home her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Newbold of Wellington, Kansas and Miss K. Frances Cleave of Cambridge, N.Y., came to assist in caring for her. She passed away at her home in Farmington on July 12, 1944.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Blythe Bretz; an aged mother, Mrs. Leonora McLintock; one sister, Mrs. W. S. French; and many relatives and friends.
