Charles Cleave, 86, of Farmington, died Thursday, July 30, at 8:45 p.m. in University Hospitals, Iowa City. He had been ill about three weeks, in failing health for some time.

A native and life resident of Farmington, he was born April 12, 1878, the son of James and Julia Robinson Cleave.

On Sept. 15, 1901, at Farmington, he married Eva McLintock. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arlet (Blythe) Lamborn of Farmington; two sisters, Miss K. Frances Cleave of Farmington and Mrs. Jesse Newbold of Winfield, Kansas. Three brothers, three sisters and his wife are dead.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington with the Rev. Leroy Moore, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Farmington Cemetery.
