Last Rites Wednesday for John E. Anderson
John Emil Anderson, son of Alfred and Emma Anderson, was born January 23, 1877, on the home farm, where he was to pass his life, and passed away at his home, July 20, 1942, aged 65 years 5 months and 23 days.

He was one of a family of seven children, and the sole survivor of his family.

He grew to manhood on the home farm, attending the country school when a boy. He engaged in farming as his life work.

On February 16, 1921, he was united in marriage to Anna E. Larson, of Keokuk, who survives him.

He was confirmed in the Lutheran church of Keokuk when a boy. All of his life he has been respected by a wide circle of friends and neighbors as a good, honest man, and a good neighbor. The men on the street are saying today: "John Anderson was a good man," and there is sorrow at the passing of this old and respected friend.

Funeral services were held at Story Chapel, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John S. Ellis. Interment was in Thompson Cemetery.
