Margaret Cornelia Cresap Meek, youngest daughter of Michael and Sarah Cresap, was born in Bonaparte, Iowa, Sept. 19, 1860 and was the youngest of twelve children, all of whom preceded her in death.

Mother Margaret, as she was lovingly called for many years was married to Robert elmer Meek Sept. 25, 1885. To this happy union one son, Stanley Robert was born. This happy family lived in the same home in Bonaparte for 45 years until death came to her loving husband on Sept. 16, 1930. Following this sad event Mother Margaret lived with her son Stanley in Cedar Rapids, Iowa until her death Saturday, June 19, 1954.

An extremely active woman, Mother Margaret was a member of the First Presbyterian church, a charter member of the Woman's Aid Society and a member of Chapter AB, P.E.O. Since Sept. 10, 1892, all of Bonaparte. She was also a member of the Cresap chapter of DAR of Cumberland, Maryland. While living in Cedar Rapids she was active in the Westminster Presbyterian church and Guild number seven.

She is survived by her son, Stanley; three grandchildren, Robert of Victoria, Texas, James and Anne of Cedar Rapids and one great-granddaughter, Bessie of Victoria.

Mother Margaret was a grand lady and wonderful mother and her passing marks a solemn moment in one of our more historical families. The memory of her long and useful life will be cherished by many.

Graveside services were held at the Bonaparte cemetery, Monday morning, June 21 with burial at the cemetery.
