Mrs. Lenora Viola Duncan, 68, of Bonaparte died at 12:05 a.m., at her home Thursday, June 18, 1964. She had been ill for some time.

She was born Aug. 7, 1895 at Richland, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Ellen Florence Rambo Haynes. She spent her childhood and most of her life on a farm near Hillsboro and had lived in Bonaparte for 15 years. She was married in 1912 to Noah Elbert Duncan, who survives her.

There are five sons surviving; Fred of Hillsboro, Ray of Keosauqua, Clayton of Farmington and Robert and Lawrence of Bonaparte. One brother, John Haynes, and one sister, Effie Scearcy, both of Bonaparte also survive, along with seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Services were held at the Bonaparte Methodist church Saturday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte cemetery.
