Jack D. Huffman,64,of Douds died Friday, Feb. 6,1998 at the Van Buren Co. Hospital, Keosauqua. He was born Jan. 25,1934 in Keosauqua to Wilbur and Lucille Roberts Huffman. He married Georgia Cole, August 22,1958. To this union three children were born, Laura and Larry, who were twins and Jackie Lynn. Jack graduated from Keosauqua High School and served in the U.S. Navy, aboard a destroyer in the Mediterranean Sea. He worked as a caretaker of harness race horses at many racetracks throughout the United States. Due to failing health he retired to Douds in 1994. Surviving are his mother, Lucille Huffman of Keosauqua, three brothers, Jim of Eldon, Jerry of O'Fallon, Mo., and Joe of Keosauqua. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Betty Arnold, and a brother, Donald Huffman and two children, Laura and Jackie. The body has been cremated and no services are planned, Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery.
