George V. Randolph

George V. Randolph, formerly of Bonaparte, died Monday, March 18, 1963 about noon at an Ames Hospital after an extended illness. He had been living with a daughter, Mrs. Edith Van Voorhiss, of Ames.

Born June 29, 1877, near Bentonsport, he was the son of John and Lydia Huff Randolph. A farmer, he lived most of his life in Van Buren county. He married Claudia Moore Dec. 29, 1909 near Mount Zion

Survivors include a son, George Paul of Wilton Junction; a daughter, Mrs. Edith Van Vorhiss of Ames; a sister, Mrs. Eva Rowland of Keithsburg, Ill.; several half brothers and half sisters, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in October 1951, and by his son Gerald, who died Saturday, March 16; two brothers and three sisters.
Double funeral services for George V. Randolph, 85 and his son, Gerald Ernest Randolph, 52, were held Tuesday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m., at the Church of the Nazarene in Farmington.
The Rev. Walter Smith and the Rev. Robert Swanson officiated. Burial was in Bonaparte Cemetery. Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington was in charge.
