Stanley McLean

Our town and community were shocked and saddened Wednesday of last week when word came to the family of Stanley McLain from the time Hospital that he was much worse and for them to come. He was operated on the Friday before for appendicitis and was apparently doing well when he suffered a nervous prostration and heart attack on Wednesday and passed away Thursday morning. While Stanley had lived in Keosauqua for short time since he worked for is uncle, or how Williams, yet we all considered him one of our hometown boys. He always had a smile and a pleasant work for everyone and he was well liked by young and old. He was just in the prime of his life as he was only 23 years old and leaves a young bride of three months, just when they were starting on life's journey together. He was always thoughtful for is widowed mother and brothers and sisters and all in all was a prince of a fellow. We shall all miss him, yet we feel that his life's work was soon done and he was called up higher. Our sympathy goes out to the entire McLean and Williams family in their loss.
