Sarah McClellen daughter of Samuel and Mary Walker was born in Butler Co., Ohio, March 28th, 1812, and died at Pierceville Van Buren Co. Io., July 2nd, 1889. In 1840 she came to Iowa and since lived in this county. On the 15th day of June 1855 she was united in marriage with James McClellen. Mr. McClellen died Feb. 2nd, 1868. She had but few family relatives at the time of her death. One brother John Walker living in Scotland Co. Mo., two nieces, Mrs. A. W. Stevens of Bentonsport and Mrs. A. S. McCune of Pierceville and one nephew. Before coming to Iowa she became identified with the M E Church, continuing a member of the same for 43 years. About two years ago her left side became paralyzed. As the result of this affliction she experienced but little pain but suffered a great in convenience. Her funeral occurred July 4th the remains being deposited in the Bentonsport cemetery.
