Sarah Chapman 1798 - 1888

CHAPMAN - At her home near Bonaparte, Iowa, November 10, 1888, Sarah Smeed Chapman, sr., aged 90 years and 6 days.

Deceased was born in Favershane [sic], Kent county, England, Nov. 4, 1798 and was married to Samuel Chapman, sr., July 21, 1821. They came to America about 1832.

She was the mother of 12 children, one of whom died several years ago.

Eleven children and her aged companion are left to mourn their loss.

She was interred near her home, a place where she had made choice of for her last resting place, on Nov. 13, 1888
