Death of William Hanback
The Marshalltown Times-Republican of Tuesday contains the following, relative to the death of a former Bonaparte citizen which occurred at the Soldiers Home at that city:
"William H. Hanback, aged 75, died Sunday morning at the hospital, after an extended illness with consumption. The deceased was a private of Company K, Sixth California volunteer infantry enlisting at Marysville, Cal., December 29th, 1863, and being discharged at Venetia Barracks, Cal., October 22, 1865. He was admitted to the Home October 18, 1894, took discharge October 13, 1896, and was readmitted, the last time from Bonaparte, October 17, 1899. The deceased was [a] bachelor and leaves a brother, Thomas Hanback, residing at Bonaparte."
Deceased was also a veteran of the Mexican war, having served his country in that conflict for many months.
