Mrs. Bessie Cleo Zane, 69 of Bonaparte died Monday, April 12, 1967 at 9 p.m., in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital after a serious illness of one week. Mrs. Zane had been in failing health.

She was born Sept. 11, 1895 in Bonaparte, the daughter of Iowa E. and Hallie Johnson Hunter. She married Lee W. Zane in Burlington, Nov. 14, 1917.

Mrs. Zane was a life resident of Bonaparte. She was a member of the Methodist church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert of Hillsboro and Lee W., Jr., of Birmingham, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Orville Rudd of Rock Island, Ill.; a half-sister, Mrs. Edith Franklin of Newton; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held thursday at 2 p.m., at the Bonaparte Methodist church with Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte cemetery. The body was taken from the Miller Home for Funerals in Farmington to the Residence of Carl Wilson in Bonaparte Tuesday evening.
