Joseph E. Johnson, 67, of Farmington, died Friday, June 6, 1980 at 6:55 p.m. In the Donnellson Manor Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Born March 10,, 1913 at Kearney, Neb., he was the son of Leslie B. and Addie Mae Lindsay Johnson.

He married Verna Therme on Dec. 25, 1939 at Kahoka, Mo.

He spent most of his life in the Farmington area and was retired from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant at Burlington.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Losey of Farmington; Mrs. Joseph (Phyllis) Carle and Mrs. David (Judy) Sheets, both of Fort Madison; and two brothers; John Johnson of Burlington and Les Johnson of Petaluma, Calif.; two sisters; Mrs. Percy (Mary) Lowe of Bonaparte and Mrs. Florence Darlingof Portland, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

The funeral was held Monday at 1:30 p.m. In the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, with Robert Hambright officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Heart Fund.
