Marie L. Morris, 69, of Route 2, Keosauqua died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 1996 at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua.

She was born September 26, 1926 in Fairfield to Louis and Effie Hillman Chapuis. She married Darrell R. Morris April 10, 1948 in Fairfield Christian Church.

She graduated from Stockport High School in 1944, farmed with her husband between Stockport and Keosauqua and was employed in the dietary department of Van Buren County Hospital for 19 years. She was a member of Stockport Christian Church, Van Buren County Republican Women, Van Buren County Farm Bureau and a Past Matron of Lynds Chapter No. 27, Order of Eastern Star, Keosauqua.

Surviving are her husband, a duaghter, Juanita Kingsbury and her husband, Gary and a son, Keith Morris, all of Keosauqua, and three grandchildren, Matthew, Brian and Ellen Kingsbury.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Raymond Darrell Morris, November 28, 1950.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 1996 in Stockport Christian Church, Pastors Milton Duhon and Ellis Beeman officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte Cemetery.
Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials to her church may be left at the funeral home or the church.
