Esther Vineyard, 54, Burlington, died Tuesday, December 14, 1982 at Burlington Medical Center.

She had been Des Moines County's deputy treasurer.

She was born May 17, 1928 at Bonaparte to Mr. And Mrs. Harley Pender. She married Evert Vineyard, February 14, 1948 at Kahoka, Missouri.

She began work at the Des Moines County Courthouse in July, 1966 in the auditor's office, rising to deputy auditor, and was named first deputy to the county treasurer in January, 1982.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving; her husband; two sons, Earl, El Paso, Texas and Ed, Wapello; a brother, Oscar Pender, Bonaparte; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 17 at the Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Streyfeller officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte cemetery.
