Stanley Hendricks, 76, of Bonaparte died Sept. 19, 1987 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born Jan. 11, 1911 in Riley, Kans., to George and Eva Bell Hendricks. He lived in Bonaparte for 41 years, was former owner/operator of Hendricks Auto Service, a member of the masonic lodge and fire chief for many years. He married Myrtle Hunt on Oct. 21, 1938 in McCallister, Mont.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, David of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ben of Bonaparte; two daughters, Mary Jane Kandzar of Oak Harbor, Wash. And Edna Marshall of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild, three brothers, Wayne of Douds, Glen of Keosauqua and Robert of Ottumwa; and a sister, Kathryn Beggs of Burkburnett, Texas.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1987 at Bonaparte United Church, the Rev. Robert Hambright officiating.

Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington is in charge of arrangements.

The body is being cremated and burial will be in Bonaparte cemetery.

Memorials have been established.
